Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (online degrees/diplomas are not accepted), and
- Current Nursing (RN) license in the North America, Western Europe, or Australia/New Zealand, and
- Minimum two years of current experience as a Registered Nurse in the specialty area, working in a mid- to large-sized acute-care hospital in North America, Western Europe, or Australia/New Zealand.
Department Information
The Adult Hematology Unit is an acute 15 bed unit. The patient population includes Saudi and non-Saudi Nationals, 14 years of age and up.
Patients are admitted with various hematological disorders, including:
- Acute and Chronic Leukemia
- Aplastic Anemia
- Multiple Myeloma
- Sickle Cell Anemia
- Burkittâs Lymphoma
- Thalassemia
- Myelodysplastic Syndrome
- ITP; TTP
Frequent Procedures/Services/Functions:
- Medication delivery including chemotherapy administration and management
- Blood product administration
- Central/peripheral IV line management
- Bone marrow biopsy and aspiration
- Lumbar puncture
- Patient assessment and evaluation (frequent hemodynamic monitoring)
- Patient/family education
- Oxygen therapy and pulse oximetry
- Neutropenic isolation (and other as required)
- Nutritional support (TPN, weights)
- Wound and skin care
- BMT work-up
- Psychosocial support
- Pain control
Hours of Operation:
24 hours per day, 7 days a week
