The Department of Medicine at King Abdulaziz Medical City - Riyadh is composed of eleven divisions which provide specialized high-standard medical care. These divisions are as follows:
The Neuro-Rehabilitation Unit at KAMC-R provides rehabilitation services for patients with conditions including traumatic brain injury (TBI), spinal cord injury (SCI), stroke, neuromuscular disease, congenital deformities, childhood onset disabilities, peripheral and central nervous system dysfunction, and polytrauma. . Patients with above conditions not requiring intensive inpatient rehabilitation as well as those with chronic pain, musculoskeletal pain, arthritis, congenital deformities, and other conditions requiring rehabilitation, are managed on outpatient basis as indicated. The Rehabilitation Department is preparing for the strategic goals of providing rehabilitation services to the hospital projects such as the newly built Trauma Center, Children’s Hospital which is now in construction, as well as the transformation of the Long Term Care Center to acute beds, and further cementing of the Rehabilitation Department role with the newly established Stroke Unit in coordination with the neurology division.
