The Department of Surgery is the largest surgical department at our client hospital serving the people of Saudi Arabia and providing national leadership in surgical science for nearly 30 years.
It consists of nine sub-specialty sections, including: Breast and Endocrine, Colorectal Surgery, General and Minimally Invasive Surgery, Ophthalmology, Pediatric Surgery, Plastic Surgery, Renal and Pancreatic Transplant, Thoracic and Vascular Surgery. Some unique services provided are: reconstructive surgery, microsurgery, complex cadaveric and living related transplantations, difficult kidney transplants (multiple arteries and pediatrics less than 10kg), combined lung/pancreas transplantations, minimally invasive surgery (adult, pediatric and neonates), robotic surgery, surgical treatment of morbid obesity (gastric band/bypass, sleeve gastrectomy), and laser and vacuum-assisted wound care.
The Pediatric Surgery Unit treats patients from infants to age 14 years. Most of the patients have multiple and complex medical conditions requiring multi-disciplinary approach in their management.
